Frequently Asked Questions
WHY DOES SCI EXIST?
There is no other resource for small-cap executives and board members to understand, free of any conflicts of interest, how seasoned investors think about their companies and the critical decisions they make daily.
Existing resources are limited to service providers providing advice that’s biased towards retaining and growing their businesses. Alternatively, executives and board members are also bombarded with advice/suggestions by inexperienced investors, who are focused more on capturing short-term gains for themselves rather than building/scaling great companies that deliver long-term value.
We believe there is a better way to help executives, boards, and their shareholders.
WHO WRITES THE CONTENT FOR SCI?
SCI currently has more than ten contributors to our education catalog: both seasoned small-cap investors, as well as renowned capital markets thought leaders. Some content is published under their individual names, sometimes the content is published under the SCI umbrella when it has been group edited/developed. None of them are paid, and none of them have access to our membership data.
WHY CAN’T SERVICE PROVIDERS JOIN?
We’ve spoken to dozens of small-cap executives, and they resoundingly stated that a critical void in the small-cap ecosystem is a community limited exclusively to executives and board members so they can, anonymously, confer with one another about critical business challenges they face.
Secondarily, executives we spoke with were clear: “We don’t want this to be an environment where every interaction results in a service provider trying to sell us something. If this is first-of-its-kind education… then keep it 100% education.”
ARE YOU JUST ANOTHER ADVISORY SERVICE?
No. SCI isn’t an advisory service at all. SCI is a first of its kind educator.
